A stagnant 1960’s kitchen with a small over-sink window set high on the wall was replaced with this new butternut kitchen design to compliment the family room with its old-world flair. Special features include a two-drawer refrigerator to the left of the sink, built-in dishwasher to the right of the sink, small pantry pullouts in the supporting columns of the range hood surround, appliance garages in the bottom of the flanking cabinets, fully integrated sub-zero refrigerator, desk area with file drawers for favorite recipes and additional storage. A fossilized limestone countertop was chosen to compliment the custom marble backsplash and the custom marble mosaic depicting Virginia creeper in its fall colors. Revolving counter chairs were also made along with the mahogany dish cabinet. Leaded glass with individually hand cut beveled glass was chosen to continue the old-world styling. Custom butternut pocket doors with stained glass panels were made and installed in the new opening between the kitchen and the family room. Walnut parquetry floors complete the renovation
